Subcontracting for Subcontractors

Whether you are a large business or small, one way to increase your exposure in the federal marketplace is to act as a subcontractor to prime vendors. Customer agencies get introduced to your company and your level of service, increasing your potential for receiving orders as a future prime contractor. Extending your network of industry partners means greater chances of work, even if limited to work as a subcontractor.

Subcontracting for Prime Contractors

The federal government prioritizes small business participation in our buying programs. The Small Business Subcontracting Program requires non-small businesses with a contract valued at $750,000 or more to consider working with small businesses.

Eligibility

Businesses considered “Other Than Small Business” that hold a contract valued at $750,000 or more are obligated to participate. Small businesses are not required to have a small business subcontracting plan.
