GSA contracts under certain SINs are required to have photos for each product listed, with certain exceptions. When was the last time you bought a product online without a photo? Photos provide the best shopping experience for customers. Publishing accurate photos of offered products avoids buyer confusion and reduces returns. With so many products on GSA Advantage, making sure that your products have clear, high quality photos help your products stand out.
Do not use your company logo or a photo of a different product/model than what you are actually selling; this does not help the government customer understand your product. GSA is actively rejecting electronic catalogs that continue to submit company logos in lieu of valid product photos. All photos may be submitted via SIP or EDI and must meet upload requirements found in the following guidance:
Important Photo Instructions
- You can provide multiple photos per product or accessory to show different views.
- Your photos should be well-fit, crisp and clear, and show the entire product where the product takes up to 80% of the photo area.
- Photos should be at least 500x500 pixels but we recommend they be at least 800x800 pixels in size for detail viewing. Note - GSA Advantage will create thumbnails of your images.
- Photos must be in either JPG or GIF format.
- Maximum photo size is 1MB. (file size cannot be 0).
- Maximum file name size is 80 characters and should contain only letters, numbers, and underscores.
- Photos must be located in your SIPv7\PHOTO subdirectory.
- Photos are encouraged and should be product specific, not logos or generic images.
